Speech #1: “Skate to Success: An ADHD Success Story”

As someone with ADD (Inattentive Type), I think it’s important to educate others about the nature of ADD and reinforce that ADD is a cognitive disorder, not “an excuse,” as some people call it. I review a scientific study that looks at brains of people with ADD and talk about the story of Shane Perrault, who overcame ADHD and became a successful psychologist.

What’s the difference between ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)? For people with ADD, the symptom of hyperactivity, which is present in those with ADHD, is absent.
